Huge Earthquake!

I’ve just experienced one of the strongest earthquakes in my life. The epicenter was located offshore 15 miles east of Taipei, and the quake was measured at a 6.2. Being on the 7th floor definitely made it much worse. The swaying lasted longer than any other earthquakes I’ve been through, and I have to admit that I was scared by an earthquake for the first time in my life. It didn’t help that the huge Izmir earthquake had just occurred a few weeks ago in Turkey, and watching those buildings collapse was absolutely terrifying. The whole time all I could think was, “can I run out?” Under normal circumstances I would have just run out, but I’m currently under quarantine. Apparently, I wasn’t the only person in that quandary, because the health department later said that we can evacuate if necessary, “but make sure to wear your masks.”

So now I’ve got my mask looped around my wrist in case I need to dart out that door.
