Another whole day of traveling. Normally this wouldn’t be wise use of time but, when retired, we’ve got nothing but time. Too be honest, I like being in airports. Of course, lounge access improves the airport experience tremendously.

One thing to be aware of is that the lounge is located airside before immigration, so don’t wait until last minute to try to board because you’ll be met with lines at customs.
Two and a half hours later, we were back in Istanbul. Then it was on to catch our connecting flight to Trabzon.

We finally checked in to our $12 a night Airbnb in the evening after getting our rental car. We only plan to be in Trabzon for one full day to check out Sumela Monastery, and then it’s an early AM flight out on Friday back to Istanbul. I picked this place because it is within walking distance from the airport, and since we’ll be returning the rental car tomorrow night, I want to be able to walk to the airport the next morning. Obviously, for $12 a night photos aren’t warranted.
