The first leg of our trip to Morocco involved flying domestically from the West Coast (LAX) to the East Coast (JFK), since Royal Air Maroc had cut out all direct flights to Morocco except for the JFK route. Domestic travel is nothing like international travel.

Had we both not been vaccinated, I’d been concerned about the airport crowd. Our flight was also fully booked, but with the air filter system on the plane, I was less concerned about Covid transmission inside the aluminum tube.

The free WiFi on JetBlue made the trip more tolerable, and 5 1/2 hours later we landed at JFK. In years’ past, we’d take the A train into the city, but with the recent rise in subway crime, we opted to take a Lyft (one of the newer benefits of the Chase Sapphire Reserve card is 10x points when charging Lyft rides) to our hotel.
